The battle of hastings was a vicious battle fought by the English, the Norman's and the Vikings. I payed a game on it called 1066 (the year that the battle of of hastings begun) at y8.com. In the game you have to reenact the whole war. First you play as the Vikings and win the battle against the English second you play as the English and defeat the Vikings for the final battle you play as the Normans and end up victorious against the English as this s what really happened. This game was really cool because it told you everything in the history as well as you being able to reenact what happened. I learnt that the battle of hastings was the longest battle in medieval history and that Duke William of Normandy was crowned king on Christmas. In the battle of hastings it was he Normans against the English were winning as they had an advantage of being on top of a hill. Duke William ordered a retreat and started running the English army followed them but quickly the normans turned around and slaughtered them. Duke william was then crowned king on christmas. This game is a really good learning experience so that you can see and experience how people fought back then.

The game 1066 is a recreation of what happened when England was invaded by two enemies. This game is really good education because before the game starts, they give an intro about what was happening in 1066 shown as a video. After a battle, another video tells you who won and why, like when the English fought the Normans, the Normans won because King Harold got shot in the arrow by an arrow. The game made the videos fun to watch because it was kind of a cartoon and sprinkles of interesting facts. Also, before a battle you get to see what types of troops each nation had and their use. At The Battle of Hastings, The English had an uphill advantage and had a good troop formation, the shield wall. But William had a trick to break the shield war. His army pretended to retreat so the Saxons would follow them, and they did. The Normans turn around, and killed many English troops as they loss the uphill advantage. This game is a fun way to learn about the Middle ages warfare and I recommend to play it before learning 1066 in details
